Introduction

Founded in 2006, Incoras Solutions Ltd. is an independent company developing software solutions for the semiconductor and consumer electronics industries.

Applying in-depth market knowledge and a unique technology skills profile, Incoras Solutions are addressing fundamental software challenges facing the semiconductor industry today.

The Problem

Productivity improvement technologies have successfully been applied to overcome hardware design challenges for complex multi-core silicon devices. By contrast today's software design technologies are failing to generate the productivity improvements required to meet growth in software design complexity for these same devices. The solution will not be found in today's EDA or ESL solutions but rather with a smarter 'application focused' approach to system level software design.

The Solution

Incoras' approach to software design uniquely encapsulates years of know-how into a suite of application-focused model-driven software solutions. Through the marriage of 'smart' software design technologies and middleware solutions Incoras will dramatically reduce cost and time to market for silicon vendors and handset manufacturers engaged in the development of media-rich consumer electronic devices.

Incoras Today

Incoras Solutions have brought together a team with years of experience and knowhow in Embedded Multimedia Applications for multicore platforms with years of experience in developing Design Automation tools for the semiconductor industry.

Incoras Solutions is developing and deploying model driven design technologies and component based software methodologies for the development and optimization of embedded applications on next generation mobile devices.

Incoras are working directly with leaders in the Semiconductor and Consumer electronics industry to develop new methodologies for the integration of multimedia software in heterogeneous embedded systems.

Incoras are actively engaged with industry leaders in developing the Khronos group's OpenMAX IL standard. Incoras' participation in this standard is actively supported by Enterprise Ireland through through the Telecoms Standards Scheme.

Together with leading European Silicon vendors and researchers Incoras are undertaking a major €3.3m R&D contract funded by EU Framework 7 initiative.

Management Team


 
Dave Murray, Director and Co-founder of Incoras, has 17 years experience in product management and software development for the semiconductor industry. Most recently Dave was responsible for a range of multimedia products at CEVA Inc (formerly Parthus Technologies), the world’s leading licensor of DSP technology. Prior to CEVA, Dave held management and engineering positions at Sony, Racal Communications, and GEC Plessey Semiconductors. Dave graduated in 1991 with an Honours degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, specialising in audio signal processing. In April 2007 Dave completed the renowned “M50 Enterprise Platform Programme” a 1-year intensive business development programme targeted at high potential knowledge-based companies.

 
Colin Tattersall, Director and Co-founder of Incoras, has 25 years in-depth commercial experience in the semiconductor industry delivering technologies to Tier-1 silicon vendors and EDA companies around the world. As Co-founder of Beach Solutions, Colin successfully grew the company to become a leading player in the ESL tools market. During this time Colin held a number of key roles in Sales, Marketing and Operations management. Prior to founding Beach Solutions, Colin was an engineering director at GEC Plessey Semiconductors where he lead the engineering activity on the 5th framework OMI/MODES project. Colin has also held project manager positions at Penny & Giles Data Systems and Marconi Avionics. Colin holds a degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Newcastle University, UK.

 
Mark Edgeworth, Director and Technologist, has a proven track record in establishing and growing software start-up companies. Mark has over 20 years experience of technology development within the electronics industry as Co-founder and CTO of Beach Solutions, and other senior positions in GEC Plessey and Racal Mobilcal. Mark possesses a strong knowledge of company financial procedures, accounts, patents and law. Mark is a recognised authority and European industry expert on microprocessor systems and software standards and has been instrumental in the inception of the EDA industry’s SPIRIT Consortium, defining standards for IP packaging and re-use.
